Amy DyerMs.Indiana Univ. - Purdue Univ. Indianapolis AboutI have worked with youth for 8 years. Kids are my passion, specifically young adults. They are impressionable and a perpetual challenge! Working with adolescents provides an opportunity for the daily grind of a job to never be boring and repetitious. I have worked with different groups of children, from 10-year old prostitutes labeled "at-risk," to parochial school "angels." There is satisfaction working with kids in general, however I prefer to lend my heart to the children who seem to need the MOST direction, those "at-risk" kids. That is why I am working to complete a Masters degree through IUPUI's School of Counseling program. After which, I intend to pursue a counseling position within the Indianapolis area schools. I am currently a Language Arts teacher at the middle school level; I enjoy working with this age group and plan to continue for many years to come!Career InterestsGuidance counselor, school counselorTeaching InterestsLanguage Arts, English, psychology
